New arrivals for 2008
"Jessie"

Jessie was retrieved from a pound in early February 2008. She is aged approx 11 years, has vision and hearing loss. We would love for her to be able to have a very special home with someone who is willing to offer her the best life has during her final years.
June 2008 - Jessie has found her forever home. Many thanks to all who inquired.
"Cracker"

Cracker came to us in early March 2008. Aged just over 7 years, he was lucky to be able to be placed very quickly. He came back to stay with the Gordon Clan in August so that he could go on a Puggy weight watchers programme and hopefully he can return to his new owners when he has lost a few kilo's.
As of December, Cracker has managed to shed 4kg! - with still a bit more to go.
Update April 2009. Cracker is now a healthy 9.7kg at last weigh in. A huge achievement for him and he is much more healthy and active.
"River"

River came to us from an SPCA early November 2008.
We have no idea where he came from or who owned him. He appeared to have been dumped and I gave him the name "River" as that is where he was found.
He is an older boy and one of the worst cases of neglect that I have had. He was exceedingly thin with hip bones, spine and ribs all showing. In fact he was little more than horrible smelly skin draped over bones. He was minus at least a 3rd of his coat - from chin to chest, tummy, legs and bum was just black stinky skin. Cause apparently no more than atopy that simply needed to be treated. What coat he had was thin, harsh and dry.
River also has a large mammary tumour and a few other lumps on his skin. After thorough vet check and blood tests it was decided that River deserved a chance. With basic treatment to help relieve his allergies, a high quality diet to help him gain weight and support his immune system, and regular bathing with a gentle oatmeal shampoo, River's health and condition has improved markedly. It is hoped that he will be able to have surgery in early 2009 to remove the tumour.
River is a honey of a dog, one who very much appears to have had a past life that is not in keeping with the condition and way he was found. He's a fairly big lad, obviously had been neutered as an adult dog and acts as though he has possibly been someones show/stud dog. Perfectly relaxed in a multi dog situation, crate and table trained, show stacks and has old stud dog attitude.
With long term future unknown, what time he does have will be lived with the Gordon Clan, with the best of care, love and comfort.
Update will be given after he has had his surgery.
